Hi guys, so I'm upgrading my PC, and I need more power. I don't have much to spend, and found the Zalman ZM600-HP Modular PSU on ebay for about $55 AUD. I haven't been able to find this on @STRMfrmXMN's PSU whitelist, so I was wondering if it's an OK unit. (For price reference, the cheapest unit on his whitelist I can find for sale costs $72). I am currently running a dodgy Thermalfake 500W OEM unit . . . so wanting to upgrade anyways. Thanks for your help!

The psu you're looking at isn't great and there's no point in upgrading your current psu if you're referring to the system in your sig. If the only thing making you replace your psu is a bad feeling, don't bother.

I mean, it has good reviews from johnnyguru, but it's from at least 2007, so it would probably have problems with haswel.

I just got two R9-270X's from some friends, gonna crossfire them soon. Judging from research, 500W isn't quite enough to power the whole system. I used the coolermaster power supply calculator, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks

(You should have bid on my PSU a week ago...)

I saw that PSU when I was looking for a good secondary PSU, I passed because I didn't care for it since it doesn't have an 80+ certificate.

Looking at it now, it is FSP and appears to be similar platform to the GLN 88.

What is it going to power?

Intel i5-4440, 2x CFX R9-270X, 3 case fans. PSU calculator says that it will run about 520 watts.

You can get Antec Truepower Quattro for pretty cheap on ebay. I wouldn't get that PSU, just search around auctions till you find a good PSU, if the PSU isn't on @STRMfrmXMN's tier or whitelist and it is from a reputable brand (Coolermaster is not a reputable brand, they sell a lot of shit and I don't have time to look them up), you can ask in either of the threads.

it might not support low power states for the newer cpus given that it is really old. i do not believe that zalman is a good brand for psus so i would reccomend finding an alternative from the likes of fsp, seasonic, evga, corsair, superflower, etc.
