I go around my friends how quite a lot to play games, socialize and do uni work. I most take around my laptop (isn't the best), as it's too much hassle to take my main desktop. To over come this I am planning on building a small form factor (mITX) computer, which will be easier to take around in comparison to my desktop; but much better than my laptop!

The parts list is as followed:

CPU:  AMD A10-6800K 4.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£101.99 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler:  Corsair H55 57.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  (£49.99 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-F2A85XN-WIFI Mini ITX FM2 Motherboard  (£79.04 @ Amazon UK)
Memory:  Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (£70.56 @ Scan.co.uk)
Storage:  Seagate Momentus XT 750GB 2.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (£101.69 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Case:  Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini ITX Tower Case  (£39.76 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £498.71
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Note: Reason there is no graphics card it because I've already got that covered.

Any improvements/changes that you can think of will be much appreciated. I'm looking in total to spend around the £500~ mark, though may consider going slight over if it proves worth it.

Ditch the H55, drop down the PSU and find a way to shove a GPU in there. And just get a standard mechanical drive.

The card it already covered, will be taking the 7870 out my main computer, as I plan on putting something 'newer' in there.

The price doesn't justify getting it, plus I love the look of the Elite 130; it'll match my CM 690 II :D

If you are going apu than get higher speed ram.

What speed would you recommend? Would it be worth it with a dedicated GPU?

If you have a GPU why buy a apu? Get a fx-6300 instead and since there are no m-itx AM3+ boards, could you get something like a prodigy M?

I did look into something like that, but to be quiet honest, don't really like the look of the Prodigy M, plus isn't quite 'small' enough :P

No point getting an APu with a dedicated gpu. You could get a 750K or 760K instead and scarp the integrated graphics.

The faster memory won't make a difference unless you're using the integrated graphics.

With a dedicated gpu it is not worth is at all but with integrated (apu) it will have at lease 15-20 fps difference. I would recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231468
