Bluetooth headphone w/mic recommendation (iphone 7)

My gf has the iphone 7, and she wants to get a pair of bluetooth headphones w/mic. She'd rather not spend $160 on airpods. Any recommendation on a pair that has decent sound and microphone quality?

Jaybird X2, they are <80 on Amazon. If you have a bit more cash, then the Jaybird X3 when they become available ($130)

I have X2's and they are pretty damn great... sound, battery, comfort, looks, everything is top-notch for a VERY reasonable price of $75 (out of stock RN but you can order)

I personally use the Sony SBH80's and they work perfectly. The mic is decent and the audio on the earbuds has a bit more bass than my Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's, which were considered to have a bit more bass but nowhere near beats levels. I can hear everything with these and also they have an 8hr battery life.

Afaik, Airpods were permanently delayed so no worries there .

Amazon lists the Jaybird X2s normal price of $150....... No clue on when the deal expires.

$75 is definitely reasonable, and seeing the positive reviews on the battery life is a huge plus. 

 

At almost double the price, how significantly better are the x3's?

A google search on the x3's show it available at my local best buy, but no reviews yet. Might stop buy to see they would let me test them out..

How comfortable are these laying down?

Watch MKBHD's X3 video. Basically:

Pros of X3:

• same battery life
• smaller, nicer design (flush with ears)
• slightly better sound 
• more colors
• slightly more comfortable ear fins

Cons of X3 besides higher price:

• weird proprietary charging thingy as opposed to microUSB
• battery in remote, making it bulky and unbalanced
• soft bag instead of hard-shell, rubberized carrying case

Overall I'd get X2s instead

I've fallen asleep with them in before. I barely notice they're there.

IDK, haven't tried.

Probably not very, as they do stick out a bit. X3's are pretty much flush with the side of the head tho
