That looks good to, always like the fractral stuff. no OD though if bluray is a thing for you. Airflow path looks cleaner on the other hand in the 605 which might help keep the noise down with low speed fans.

By OD you mean Optical Drive I guess.

That would be a slim version in the fractal 605 from what I know so far but only with mATX boards:

"1x 12.7mm slim/slimline ODD (only supported with mATX or smaller motherboards)"

The board I will use is one I got left over but it's an ATX. But an Optical Drive is not needed anyway.

Must of missed that bit. Case looks good though, I made the mistake of going with something that doesn't fit a decent cooler the first time. I'd rather a crap looking htpc that I can't here verses a good looking loud thing.

I'm starting to get my head around the fractal, from all the cases I looked at so far that thing simply looks porn. in addition it got the same hight (with feet) as my center speaker and my DAC which on the shelf will be positioned like this:

HTPC --------- CENTER ----------- DAC

|------------------SHELF-------------------|

cooling is a thing now. I got an old AMD 6 core lying around along with a bad asrock board and some random RAM.

Will need to buy a SSD (evo 850 128GB) and PSU (evga g2 550) and a cooler that fits the case.

Cooler according to specs:

"CPU cooler compatibility: Approx 125mm with side-mounted fans - For coolers with top-mounted fans, Fractal Design recommends that you add at least 30 mm clearance for decent airflow"

Will sth. like this here do? --> http://pcpartpicker.com/product/d2yFf7/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rrg52418pkr1

Sorry must of missed this yesterday. Yeah that looks like a reasonable sized downdraft cooler which will help keep the chipset on the fx platform cool as well. what I kinda the one thing I like about the silverstone cases is most have an open vent above the cpu socket.

can always underclock or undervolt the amd 6 core, if thermals are really a problem. Though I think you should be fine plenty of flow for the fractal, my fx-6100 oc to 4.1ghz is pretty cool at idle (the frio heatsink on it can run passive) and in general a htpc doesn't tax the system very much.
