Dual boot clarification...

I want to dual-boot Ubuntu with windows and just want to make sure I am going to do it right:

 

  1. make a partition for ubuntu (100gb)
  2. anddddd now what...

Main Rig: -FX8150 -32gb Kingston HyperX BLUE -120gb Kingston HyperX SSD -1TB WD Black -ASUS R9 270 DCUII OC -Corsair 300r -Full specs on Profile

I'd go like 40gb for ubuntu

I am going to use it as my main OS and windows as my gaming one

Long term support?

Generally not needed for desktop environments. That is usually only used for larger enterprise networks, or headless servers.

Ok, need some help, I can't use a USB because I dont have one on me, cant use a dvd because my laptop does not have a dvd drive... Now what do I do? I want to do the old make a partition, install ubuntu onto it way.

Use: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/, select your hdd, reboot, install ubuntu. When done uninstall unetbootin.
