GPU upgrade

I have an SLI capable motherboard and a  sufficient psu, so what I'm wondering is if I should go with a single 6gb 1060 or another 4gb 960 and put them in sli

I'd go with the single card unless you can get a good price on the 960.

single card setups are generally better unless you only play games optimized for sli

For reference, one of my 1060 6GB's can do as well as a 980.

Get the 1060 you will also get more vram and performance

1060 6GB all the way. Always go single card over multi GPU when possible.

That's the thing, I'm looking at a 4GB 960, exact card design as well for 100$.

It's about 150-165$ but some of the pricing is terrible due to how many are in stock atm.

I ended up getting the 1060 since the guy ended up already selling the 960 to someone else who offered more than what I was giving... Very happy with the 1060 though!

Good news! Ended up sending my GTX 1060 back and getting an RX 480... Had artifacts after the 5th day even when I underclocked it... Thought it was a good try to give team red a go.
