This isnt a problem just something im curious about. I have an i5 4460 that clocks at 3.20ghz. its a locked processor.

While i was transferring files today the CPU was at 25% utilization and task manager jumped up to 3.23ghz.

I was just curious whether it was task manager just being inaccurate or if in fact my CPU was running a little faster than i typically is supposed to.

Thanks in advance.

The 4460 turbo boosts up to 3.4ghz.

The task manager is also known to not be an accurate way to read your clock speed but that may or may not have been fixed by now.

Moved to CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory.
