TV Wake on LAN or PC timer?

I was wondering if I could use my PC to turn on my tv like right before I got home. Like with an iPhone app or a timer? The reason I ask is because I can't afford a new monitor/tv just yet and it takes time for my tv to warm up. It starts out white and takes about 10 minutes before the picture is smooth.

you could buy a timer plug to automatically turn it on at a certain time. using your pc isnt that easy unless you are good at electronics/programming using things like arduino and such.

I was hoping there was a way to send the signal through hdmi to the monitor or tv to tell it to turn on.
