My new laptop just came in a few days ago,its an HP 14 AN004AU which had an AMD A8 7410 and configured with 8gb of RAM,it had no OS Besides FreeDOS 2.0,so i installed Windows 7 thru CD as an temporary OS for the system until i get my hands on a copy of Windows 10.i didnt know the copy of windows 7 i got was 32 bit,so i formatted the drive and installed windows 10 64 bit enterprise on it. it went well for a while and then it started restarting randomly to the point where i deemed it unusable, after that i tried using windows 8.1 and windows 7 64 bit versions and the same thing happened,it wasn't overheating,i checked the temps and the highest it went before restarting was 57C.

The restarts was very sudden.there was no message or notice, the screen just went black and boots normally for a while for over and over. the restarts happens very randomly, but sometimes when i try to install drivers/apps,the moment i clicked installed, the laptop rebooted,i dont know if this is a coincidence.

i tried turning off the auto update option and the auto restart options from the system properties menu, none of them work,im just confused now,can anyone help?

I cannot believe that the manufacturer of the system would install incompatible ram on a product that they have to warranty. Re-think this. Are you covering up the air intake or the exhaust on the system? are you installing the AMD chipset drivers with the OS install? Are you changing the power options to "high performance"? Are you certain that the battery is not loose in the laptop? There are a bunch of things that can do this so you need to study it and see if there is a pattern or try to figure out when and then you can possibly answer the why.....

The fact that the screen suddenly goes black leads me to believe it is a not a software problem. Does this happen when plugged into wall power? It could be a power issue. Maybe try running the system without the battery (assuming it has a removal battery) and see if it continues.

I know windows 10 is reportedly finicky on upgraded installs and has been problematic for that. although it more than likely wont work, reinstall your drivers to see if it fixes it before going to more drastic measures, if/when that doesn't work; reinstalling windows would be a good start.

I really don't think a manufacturer would send you incompatible components. but quality control might be an issue. if so, my guess would be the psu was just a dud of the lot. but if it it hardware related, im assuming you'll be sending it in.

Not installing all of the needed drivers will cause this. Especially not installing the chipset drivers as I said before.

Other drivers can be acquired thru windows update. Look in the device management control panel and see if there any question marks or unknown devices.
