I'm not too familiar with AMD's lineup but for Nvidia the 1060 would be much better for 1440p and 1080p would get higher quality settings. A 1050 would also work, but I'm not sure if it could do ultra at 1080p. Maybe.

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

The 1050 will probably be better in almost all games but I think it only comes in a 2GB variant. My best advice is to save up more because they are not aimed at ultra they are med-high for most new games. If you had to get one now I would say the 1050 because VRAM shouldn't be too much of an issue for 1080p med-high

for 1080p high to ultra and maybe a bit of 1440p which graphics card is better gtx 1050 or rx 460

the GTX 1050 is noticeably faster than the RX 460 but both can't do 1080p high ultra or 1440p.

Depends on your budget, but you can get a power colour red dragon rx 460 off newegg for US $99.99. benchmarks at 39% and should do the trick. Comparison from the green team would be GTX1050 or GTX1050 ti. If budget is higher then 1060, 1070 or 1080, depending on how much of a hole you have burning in your pocket.
