iPhone 5 problems

Hey all, so my dad got an s7 edge and gave me his iphone 5.  I have 2 problems with it.  First off the battery life isn't good.  I only get like an hour and a half of screen time.  I was expecting at least 3.  Also the youtube app is quite laggy.  It has alot of scroll lag and it lags when minimizing videos.  Is there a way to fix these 2 problems?  Also I have restored it and installed ios 10.

Its because of its age, my old iPhone 5S is the same way.

That's an old phone running a new OS... So yes, it's going to be a choppy experience. 

 

You'll need to get the battery replaced, luckily that's usually not too costly.

Edit: I also get some scroll lag in the widgets section (when I pull it down by the notifications section mostly)
