CPU and Motherboard Upgrade

I want to upgrade my current CPU and MB:

-AMD A8 5600k

-msi fm2-a55m-e33 (I think)

And i've been looking at the:

-Intel Core i5-6400

-Gigabyte G1.Sniper B7

-Corsair Vengeance lpx cmk8gx4m2b3000c15 (is there an actual name for this?)

(RAM is needed because the sniper MB has ddr4 slots and i have ddr3 ram)

I can get all of this at around €342,-

My question is if there is anything i should think of/change before buying.

(suggestions for something else are welcome but please keep it under €350,-)

.

That should be a nice little upgrade, but what is the purpose of this system? will you be gaming on it (if so what GPU are you planning on using)

When in doubt, re-format.

the ram will definitely work, it may downclock to a slower speed though. Also, 2133 is the top "officially supported" speed for ddr4, like 1333 was for ddr3, but most motherboards will have no problem running at higher speed.

When in doubt, re-format.

I forgot to add that:

1. i already have a GPU: MSI R9 380 4GB

2. i will be mostly using it for gaming and a bit of video edditing every now and then

The upgrade may give you a slight gpu bottleneck but nothing serious.

In that case, it is a pretty balanced system. A more powerful CPU wouldn't hurt, but you shouldn't have any glaring bottlenecks as it is.

When in doubt, re-format.
