Odd sli issue

So odd issue... Running 2 gtx 970s in sli using a 3way bridge for 2 cards spaced apart and tried this with a single bridge. when I pUT the cards in the slots that only allow for x8 x8 I get full working sli...when I put them in the slot for 16x 16x  theyou both aRe detected and run at 16x but the sli bridge is not detected???? I know I would only gain between 0 and 5 fps from one to the other but I have 16x so I kinda wanna use it....help

U have to have the cards in slots one and two on the bridge dude 

if u leave space 2 empty to crest space between the cards even if ur Mobo supports it the bridge won't work 

there for won't be detected

Well crap I read 10 pages that said it'll work....dammit. I need a more long bridge

Yea .... even with a strait connector it dosent work with both as 16x. only worKS in 8x.
