First Build

Hey,

Needed to upgrade my old motherboard and CPU (amd a8-5500) . And probably gonna go for an amd fx 8350.

It's my first proper upgrade so I wanted to make sure I haven't made a mistake.

This is the build I'm going for. I haven't picked out a case yet, if you have any suggestions that'd be great.

Thanks in advance

Wait for Zen

EDIT: The 8350 is also pretty old, I think it was fairly new when I built my first system back in 2012. Wait for Zen, I'd say switch to intel. If not then Zen is your best bet

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

If you're set on having an AMD system, i would say wait a few months for ZEN to drop if you can. Chances are good that the old chips will fall in price quite a bit, and possibly some zen chips may fall into your price range. If you really need to upgrade right now, i would definitely recommend something better than a GTX950. There are 1050's for less than the amount of that 950 you posted.

When in doubt, re-format.

I'm not sure I would spend my money on old AMD sockets. if all you're interested in is gaming, then I would recommend switching to intel or like @mbryant said, wait for the new line of AMD cpu's to come out. spending money for outdated components is wasteful in my opinion.

That being said, if you have your heart set on that build, i would recommend getting a 1050ti instead of the 950. it performs better, has more VRAM, and costs about the same amount: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#sort=a8&page=1

You should also get a higher quality PSU like this CX450M: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/FQ648d/corsair-power-supply-cp9020101na

but for 600 bucks you could get this build, which is much better for a gaming load than what you're looking to spend 600 on: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vjv66X
