Wish I had taken A levels instead of Diploma

Lazmarr

Just been looking at the requirements for medical schools and they all require AAA in biology and chemistry however my BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in applied science at grade Distinction Distinction Distinction (the equivalent to AAA in biology and chemistry) is not accepted by medical schools (atleast the ones I've looked at) T_T
I'm currently undertaking biomedical science at uni, which I chose so I could go to medical school.....but I don't know if they accept this and my Diploma instead of A levels.....

Just felt like ranting a bit /r

I'm an immigrant living in UK for 5 years, I came to UK without GCSE/Olevel equivalent grade and the british education system place me into year 12/AS level (2008). Got A A A for Bio chem math and a fourth subject ( ICT/IT) but i immediately got flushed out from my application for medical school without even getting to the interview stage.

Fine , pick biochemistry in uni (biomedical route) did internship , graduate with first , apply for med school again , get flushed out without getting to the interview stage yet again. While my friends (and yes in plural), who YOLO-ed through his/her past 3 years hardly study and graduate with 2:1 manage to get into medicine/dentistry.

GG.

So yeah , fuck degree and A-levels, GCSE/O-level fucked me up. :)

P.S applying for phD in biochemistry/ cellbiology program atm :u

Were you not able to get a D*D*D* grade in your course?  Unfortunately some Universities simply do not accept anything but A Level qualifications as entry requirements.  Try contacting them and try to get an interview, it sometimes helps if they know a bit more about you before disregarding you based on your qualification.

I'm actually studying Biomedical science at university, but I chose it so I could get into medical school, but after looking at the requiremrnts on the page it lists that 3 A levels are required and that my Diploma is not accepted. Also I could've gotten D*D*D* but I obtained DDD instead; which was way better than my predicted DDM.

Are there any other Medical Schools that you would consider going to that have entry requirements matching the qualifications you've earned?

Yeah, I just found uni a waste of cash after my first month getting all 90s+ for outdated shit in network engineering, took the rest of my books for the next year, read them through, saw it doesn't improve, quit (I'd have had to pay out of my pocket), got a job. now at double my original salary and manager is speaking of another raise around Dec. Jan.

But I understand medical school being a different story.

That's what I'm trying to find out, I don't really know the requirements of the med schools, since when I google the ones I find I cannot find their requirements :c

Well, it is a little bit different since I would like to be a Surgeon or a Doctor :P
