water flow rate

Go to solution Solved by 0ld_Chicken,

It looks like you're just below 1gpm which is pretty good and normal. Most blocks don't scale very well above 1gpm so you probably wouldn't notice a big difference in temps.  If you want to be sure, find a review for your exact blocks that shows performance at different flow rates.  Some scale better than others

(xtremerigs.com and thermalbench.com are usually my go-to sites for watercooling reviews)

Edit: for example, ek's gtx980 block would maybe show .2°c improvement from adding another pump. Maybe .5° from 2 additional

Hi,

i'm new here this is my first post, hello everyone :)

I'm running a water cooled rig, with a single loop cpu + 3x gpu + 2x 480rad + 1x 360rad + 1x 140rad

the loop is powered by a ek d5 bay res pump. current water speed is 220 liter per hour. (with max pump speed)

under heavy gpu+cpu load temps get to around 45-50C.

question: would i benefit from higher flow rate?

i'm thinking about adding a ek dual d5 pump to the loop and running the system with 3 pumps, but i'm unsure how much it would help regarding temps!

(or even dropping the bay res and going only for the dual d5 would also be an option)
