Hello everyone!

This is my first post here and I hope someone could help me troubleshot this problem:

I have experimented a bit with a ram upgrade for my pc and now it doesnt boot anymore (with the old and new ram).

I can access the MSI boot menu though.

Edit:

Sorry it was my mistake not to mention where my operating systems are stored.

I have w7 on the ssd and this was the normal way to boot. Since the problem arose i have installed ubuntu on the HDD. I cannot boot from either.

This is my PC:

CPU: AMD FX-6300

MoBo: MSI 970A-G43

GPU: Sapphire r9 270x dual-x oc boost

SSD: Crucial CT128M4SSD2

HDD: Seagate st1000dm003

RAM: G-Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

What I have tried:

I tried the windows starting diagnostics tool thingy (check attachement for what it gives out).

Changing back to the old ram and trying to start multiple times.

Clearing CMOS and starting the PC.

Installing ubuntu on my HDD from a bootable USB stick:

This is where it gets weird to me. It booted ubuntu once from my HDD, but not a second time.

I have used the option for trying ubuntu from the USB without installing anything and this works everytime. Plus once I am on the USB-ubuntu i can read and write data from the ssd and the hdd.

Now I dont have that much experience and I was wondering if someone could tell me what to do next.

Thank you everyone!

have you tried booting to Ubuntu from your USB while using the old RAM and then once again using the new RAM?

It works from usb stick with both RAMs.

If no luck there, do you have a spare HDD to boot from?

just a fair warning if you ever plan to overclock, do not do it on that motherboard

Hi again, thx for the help so far. I tried to do a start in secure mode with only the most important drivers as is suggested in the article. Also i filmed my screen with my mobile phone while doing so. I was able to see a blue screen on the phone that was gone to fast to notice with my naked eye earlier. It says :

A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER. IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU'VE SEEN THIS ERROR SCREEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. IF THIS SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN FOLLOW THESE STEPS: CHECK FOR VIRUSES ON YOUR COMPUTER. REMOVE ANY NEWLY INSTALLED HARD DRIVES OR HARD DRIVE CONTROLLERS. CHECK YOUR HARD DRIVE TO MAKES SURE IT IS PROPERLY CONFIGURED AND TERMINATED. RUN CHKDISK /F TO CHECK FOR HARDDRIVE CORRUPTION, AND THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

Right after that the pc goes off. Also right before the blue screen it tries to load the driver windows\system32\drivers\CLASSPNP.sys.

From what i have read about this driver failure it is suggested that i save all the data and reinstall windows. It is weird though that i cant boot from the HDD either. Before that I guess I can connect the HDD and the SSD to a friends pc and try and boot there.

If those methods did not work I was going to suggest you re-install Windows anyways. It appears there is no hardware issue, though not being able to load Ubuntu from HDD was weird, instead you got struck by a bit of bad luck with Windows itself.

Good luck with your re-install.
