Feedback on planned pc build

Looking for feedback on a build I plan on doing at some point by January.

 

My current system has an I7-4790k, 16gb of 1866mhz ddr3 ram, an MSI Z97 gaming 7 motherboard, and a Gigabyte gtx 980. I am fully aware that my current setup is perfectly fine, and my planned upgrade might be considered overkill. I simply love building pcs and want to go bigger with each build I do.

Even though a 6700k would have been a better choice, I don't want to go down that route, seeing as a 4790k outperforms it in areas, the only real difference is a 6700k overclocks better and has ddr4 support. Going with a 6800k since it's the better upgrade. Already committed to the cpu cooler.

As for the motherboard, I'm not entirely set on it. MSI is my go to brand, and I'm going for a black/red build but I'm not entirely sure on this motherboard. I care a lot about the aesthetics of this build and don't really like how this motherboard shows off all the inputs on the left side. I'd prefer something like on the MSI gaming 9 motherboards which has somewhat of a shroud to cover those up, however I really don't want to spend over $300 on a motherboard.

32gb of ram is overkill I guess, however with the price of ram I don't see why not, especially with this build I wouldn't feel the need to upgrade anything for many many years, except the gpu every two years (I'm one of those people that choose to do that).

I don't have any storage selected since I'll be using all of my drives from my current pc (one 500gb m.2 ssd, one 1tb hdd, one 2tb sshd, one 4tb hdd. story behind my 7.5tb of storage is in my first pc i built i used a 128gb ssd and that 1tb which was from a previous store bought pc. when that 1tb drive filled up i bought a 4tb drive so I wouldn't have to worry about space anymore, me transferring 600gb+ of games to it. At some point i thought my 1tb drive was dying so I bought a 2tb sshd to replace it, later replacing my small ssd with the 500gb one. I eventually added my 1tb back, doing tests which showed it was perfectly fine. me using it again since it'd be a waste not to)

As for the gpu I plan on holding off on that til around tax time when I'll be getting at least a thousand back in cash.

I committed to the NZXT case. It having the features I'm looking for in a case; red and black color theme, ample space, side window, plenty hdd space, a shroud to cover up the psu, etc.

I don't have a power supply listed cause I'll be using my current one, which is an XFX XTR gold certified fully modular one that's 650w.

Said it'd be overkill, but there really isn't many other choices when it comes to a new, upgrade from a 4790k.

 

Besides, once I have this pc I do plan on selling some of my old components, so i'd get a decent amount back.
