LGA 1151 4 channel ddr4 ram what!!!

I just can not find out if a LGA 1151 CPU (i7 6700k) can support ddr4 3000mhz ram 4 channel if the motherboard supports it!!!

It supports 3000Mhz ram.

It will support a kit of 4 sticks if the motherboard has 4 slots. It will run fine.

 

But it will be run as dual channel because the CPU itself can only do 2 channels.

There are no LGA1151 motherboards or CPUs that support quad channel. You'd need to move up to X99 for quad channel (not that it makes any real world difference compared to dual channel)

All LGA 1151 support 4 sticks of ram, but they only support dual channel. That being the bandwidth, not the number of sticks.

 

only X99 supports quad channel ram (bandwidth) not amount of sticks which is 4 - 8 for X99

800 MHZ ddr2 was just as fast as my 1600 DDR3.
