Should i exchange my gpu :/

Ok so i bought my gpu from a store called scan in the uk and i think i can still send it back. Its a evga gtx 1060 ftw+ and it does not have a backplate. Now the recent vrm issue has supposedly been resolved with the vbios update but do you guys think its a good idea to ask the store if i can change it for an asus one? I heard that the strix model is really good? Im a little stuck on what to do :/ thanks in advance.

my build is nzxt s340, evga gtx 1060ftw+, i7 6700k skylake, z170a motherboard, evga 750w g2, 2x8gb 3000Mhz corsair vengance lpx ram and an sandisk ssd and a 1tb hard drive.

Why did you get a 1060 with an i7 6700k?

With that CPU you should get a higher end GPU like a 1070 or 1080

Scan is really good when it comes to returns so chances are they'll have no issue taking it back.

If you dont want the chance of the vrm issue not being fixed i'd say return it. (but im being a little biased because i prefer the asus strix's)

was the 1060 one of those also effected by the EVGA oversight?

Good point, Jay did a video on them but it was only about the 1070/1080. Some sites are mentioning problems with the 1060, others aren't so :S
