Looking for Suggestions

mutedcurmudgeon

Hey everyone,

I recently moved away from my big PC/server to college and I've decided to build a small desktop to game and study on. (at least I'm being honest) I haven't bought any cases in particular in a while, and I've never really needed or wanted a small one, but now my need of a smaller case has risen.

I'm just looking for a case that's small, but it doesn't have to be super micro compact. Cheaper the better, I'd rather put my money towards a gpu/cpu than a case, so less than $100. Preferably black, nothing fancy, but decent quality.

If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Thanks!

Is that too big? If it is, I can recommend a smaller case.

Why the need for such small cases? You could get some standard size cool-looking cases for 30-40$, way inside your budget.

No actually that's just what I was looking for, the issue is when you start looking in that bracket (micro ATX, under $100ish) you find a lot of crappy stuff, it's a lot of work to search through the sludge.

Fractal Design makes the best mATX, mITX cases as far as I know. They also have the Nano S and Node 202, which is super compact.

There's the Thermaltake Core V1, but im not sure if that form factor will work with the space you have.

Actually that's hard for me to understand :|, in Europe most of us don't live in the university.

I don't mean ITX size, just a good quality mATX, something cheap, quiet, and decent quality. I don't need good looking, just something that works, and will continue to just work, nothing flashy.

Yeah, I only have one small desk about a meter wide and a half meter deep, so space is at a premium. :)

Yeah, it would, not really into that funky side oriented IO panel. Really there is no wrong answer, a lot of cases fit what I'm looking for. I'm just making a shortlist for black Friday if any come up on the various tech sites.

It's not that bad of a case, except it's quite old and there have been newer and better cases released.
