The thing is, I don't have the installer. Atleast I don't think so... I'll have to check!

If not, download it.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Before it boots to the bios can you not go into the boot menu by pressing whatever key it is on your motherboard. It varies so much now. Then once you're on the boot menu just select your drive that you have windows installed on.

What motherboard do you have?

What windows version is installed?

And on what drive?

So basically, I turned shut off windows  while it was updating.(Yes,I know. Fucking stupid) And now when I turn on my computer it opens BIOS. Is there anyway I can launch Windows from Bios or start it any other way? Grateful for any awnsers, Cheers!

OK will help you quick, as your topic asks! This mean no grammar or fact checkin my suggestion because I must be QUICK! In CAPS TOO!

(Just trying to friendly let you know putting things like QUICK and typing your thread title IN ALL CAPS doesn't help anyone reply faster. :P)

Good advice from @lukesterboy here - unplug all other hard drives from your system, except for the drive that Windows is installed on.

Boot your system and go into your BIOS - usually by mashing on your DEL, F2, or F12 keyboard key.

Find your Boot from Device menu and select the only hard drive listed.

Alternatively, most BIOS's display a boot menu if you mash the ESC or F8 keyboard keys during POST.

Let us know any of the following things:

  • Does your Windows hard drive show up in your BIOS/boot menu?
    • If not, you probably have a defective/dying hard drive on your hands. If so, POWER DOWN THE DRIVE IMMEDIATELY, and let us know.
  • If the drive shows up, when you try to boot, does it display anything?
    • If Windows fails to boot, it can either reboot immediately or flash your screen and display the BIOS again. Let us know.
  • If it shows up and Windows attempts to boot, but Blue screens or reboots, this could just be corruption.
    • Sometimes drivers will cause blue screens on bootup, or your bootloader itself will get corrupted for absolutely no good reason.
    • In this instance, you'll need a Bootable Windows USB that's the same as your Windows version to make repairs.
    • You can make this USB on another computer, and will need an 8GB or larger USB.
