Who here is a students and uses dreamspark?

I personally love how it includes windows 8 embedded which is basically windows 8; I have that installed on one of my computers. I also use windows server 2012. I turned an old computer into a home server for our house.

I use it too! Microsoft are actually really nice to students. However, I still struggle to find Office at reasonable prices for students.

I use it too, to get Windows, Visual Studio, and more.

While there isn't Office, you can get Office on the web for free, with SkyDrive, It's like Google Drive, but with Office.

Or you can get Office 365 University, which give you Office, the latest version, with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publish and Outlook, for 2 computers, for 4 years for only 79$ total.

I'm thinking about getting Windows 8.1 off of Dreamspark but I'm not sure whether I can install it on a blank drive? Does it include a product key and everything?

It's the full version. Just like when you go at the store and buy Windows Retail version.

Your HDD can be blank (in fact, expects that), and off you go.

I think I have downloaded the ISOs for everything available to me.  I have enough software to play with for at least the next year, or two.  We get access to a LOT of software.  Why would I need MS-DOS 6.22??

I have had access to it through 2 Universities (Undergrad, now doing Graduate studies). Still have access to it, snagged a copy of Windows 8 and 8.1 (so basically, 2 copies of Windows 8.1) which I'm keeping for when I need it.

I use it as well.

Btw, I still have windows 8 and I'm planning to move to 8.1 soon which means I'd be downloading it from Dreamspark. However, I bought the 8.1 when it was added to Dreamspark back in September before it officially launched. Does that mean the version I'm downloading now is still the beta version of 8.1?

Protip: If English is not your main language then they allow you to get both the English version and your language's for each software and apparently the keys are interchangeable.
