So I'm starting a new build for gaming (first time) and I was wondering if a 750 psu would be enough for what I'm planning to put together :

Case : cosmos 2

Motherboard : asus Maximus vi formula

Power supply : corsair rm 750

CPU : i7 4770k

Water cooling : corsair h100i

Gpu : evga gtx780

Ssd : Samsung 840 pro 256gb

Ram : 8gb(x2) 16gb corsair vengeance

HHD : western digital 2tb black

Optical drive : regular asus optical drive

I am going to be overclock my system. I would love to hear everyone's opinion and recommendations.

You'd be fine on a 650. I'd rather have spent more on the parts and less on the case though. The Cosmos II is ridiculous/

You won't have a problem.

Cosmos 2's are ugly and you might not need all that RAM if it's just gaming (8 is way enough)

CPU: Intel 3930K @ 4.6GHz || MOBO: Asus P9X79-E WS || GPU: 2x Nvidia GTX Titans || CASE: Fractal Design Define XL R2 || PSU: Corsair AX1200i

RAM: 32GB Dominator Platinum @ 2100 MHz || Storage: 240GB Samsung 840 Pro & 2TB Seagate Barracuda || Sound: Asus Xonar Essence STX

Peripherals: Samsung S27B970D - Asus PB23HQ - Logitech MX Revolution - Corsair K95 - Samson Meteor Mic - Logitech C920 - Bowers&Wilkins MM-1

but wouldn't the 650 be hitting the max capacity? i know it's unnecessary, but it's for future builds so one day I might go for bigger upgrades :P

You ony need 8GB of RAM for gaming

Get a 8350/4670k so you can afford a R9-290x

Get a Arc Midi R2

Samsung 840Evo

Change the HDD to a Seagate Baracuda

What he said if your just gaming 8gb is good, change your cpu if gaming to a 8350 one of my favorite gaming cpus (like one of the best which outperforms some intel chips in gaming) If you can't afford a 840 evo samsung SSD you could get a 830 250gb samsung SSD

i went with the intel because of performance besides from gaming, since i also do photography and video editing. will 8gb be just fine?

i forgot to mention i do little video editing, wouldn't the 8350 be abit slower compared to the i5 and i7? (in performance wise)

your budget is & when do you plan on building

about 1800$ - 2000$, no higher. Hopefully before the December. my case and my motherboard already came in, i'm still deciding about gpu and psu. right now i'm going for the corsair rm 750, but i don't know it it'll be enough for overclocking.

8GB should be fine if you're not doing anything actually intensive.

A decent 550w is already plenty. The rm 750 is enough for a 780 sli.

Are you building soon? If you're buying within 2-3 days, I recommend planning later. Parts and prices change frequently.
