Hello people!

I'm building a PC with used parts only, call it a scrapyard PC, and I would like your input.

So far I have a prebuilt PC (Vostro 260), it has:
Intel Core i3-2120

4GB RAM

Win 7 PRO

320GB HDD

The 2130 will be replaced with a 3570K, do you think it'll work with a prebuilt PC MOBO?

4GB ram will become 8GB with Corsair vengeance DDR3 4x2. Again, do you think this'll work?

I have bought a GTX 460 to put in the system, and I have a CX430 laying around.

Using a wattage calculator I found out it won't draw more than about 300W, will I be good with it?

I know the PSU is of bad quality but I really don't care about that.

Thanks!

Whats the motherboard in it?

For the ram, the 3570k only supports up to 1600mhz so aslong as the ram is that speed or under you'll be fine (you could buy higher and just change the frequency through the bios)

The PSU will be able to power it

I would suggest an i5 2400/2500 over the 3570k it will be cheaper, you don't need the oc capability, and the board may not support the ivybridge cpus.

The i3 should be plenty enough for the gtx 460 by itself though.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •

GTX460 not RX460. though i imagine that's a typo in the main post..

New gpus are getting more and more confusing, the i5 is even less necessary for a gtx 460.

I'm getting that, as well as a motherboard for it. The 460 is just temporary, and I already have the 3570k.

Totally agree, but I already "have them". Waiting for them to arrive

No, GTX 460! The old one from NVIdia, no typo.
