Since I'm not allowed to post LMGTFY posts, I've literally googled it for you and have literally posted the first three results.

Idk if you're planning to use it to fly with FPV or for just photography but if you are interested in the former then I would suggest looking at Horizon Hobby or HobbyKing and try building your own multirotor. It's a great experience and you have way more control over your platform's design.

There is a very good reason that LMGTFY is banned. Because people want help from those who know what they are doing.

That's not the point. OP should have done online research first, then asked about specific drones here. "Is drone X better than drone Y?" Asking such a general question won't get you very specific answers and really just shows that someone was too lazy to do their own research.

Obviously, the most right answer is always "build your own from hobbyking/others" just like it is for PCs. This answer is reflected in every drone thread I've seen on this site.

I have to disagree with this. Sometimes it can be hard for people to know where to even start looking, or what things need to be googled.

Is it possible to get an entry level camera drone for less than $500? Might consider picking one up.

It's totally possible. What type of camera work do you intend to do?

  • Fun or professional?
  • First Person View?

@straight_stewie summed it up pretty good. One thing I might add to his comment is that even if the person has not done basic research first (and I do agree they should before posting a thread) we should be generous and help them out with the basic stuff anyway. It makes for an overall friendlier and stronger community.

That's what I did! I posted the starting point for drones under $500. Albeit with a bit of attitude. :) But anyway, I'll stop posting, it's OT.

Yeah, I did do some starting research, I found ONE good one, but it was $400 for a freaking controller. So after seeing that, I was kind of at a lost.

So, do you need professional features? And will you be using this as a First Person View setup?

Also, that was predictable. Most people have one controller for many aircraft. You can easily spend 1000s of dollars on a nice controller. Just check this out: $3000 dollar controller

You shouldn't be spending $400 on a radio. The industry standard, fr-sky Taranis, is $200 if you know where to look.

@straight_stewie *radio. Also Futaba isn't a good choice for multirotors even though they invented the Sbus protocol that is essential to 99% of b

multirotors.

To reiterate, my guide will probably answer all of OP's questions and will make suggestions. It's right here
