Heatsinks for socket 771?

TopWargamer

I'm building my own NAS using old server parts (similar to LTT's $150 PC video), and I'm having a hard time finding decent socket 771 heatsinks. Are there any out there that are fairly decent yet not awfully expensive? And can CPUs for other sockets work on socket 771? For example, can a socket 775 fan work on socket 771?

a LGA 775 cooler should work just fine :)

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

i'm pretty sure 775 heatsinks will work on 771, since they are the same size, only 771 has fewer pins than 775. but i haven't tried so don't take my word for it.

Not only thinking... True, it did fit already, but still... Needed some fans because of worn-out stock fan.

Any heatsink will work as long as you have enough zipties and patience
