New high end setup, wiring question

Hello all,

Sorry in advance, I have asked a similar question before, but now I finally got the SoundBlaster Zx and I am a little confused...

Current setup

AudioEngine A2+
Polk Audio SW10 10" Powered Sub

SoundBlaster Zx

My issue is, the Zx wants to plug in to standard speakers... One cord for Front L/R, and 1 cord from the Subwoofer...

Question #1 - Is using an AUX cord from the Zx to the Left AudioEngine speaker, which then connects to the right speaker through speaker wire, correct?

Question #2 - Is an AUX male to (two) female RCA cable for the Polk Audio speaker correct?

I noticed my Left AudioEngine speaker also has RCA input... Would it somehow be better to get two of the AUX > RCA cables and plug both the AE A2's and Polk in that way?

What's my best options here??

Side note - I really want to be able to control my speakers volume through the Sound Blaster audio level dial thing on my desk...

  1. Yes
  2. Depends on how you're doing it. You should feed the sub the same signal as you're feeding the speaker. Usually, this would be done with standard RCA-to-RCA connected to the output on the speaker instead of your soundcard.

So you're saying it would actually be better to run an AUX plug from the Sound Card to the AudioEngine left speaker, (Which is then connected to the right one with speaker wire) and then Keep the RCA Cables that go from the left speaker Output to the subwoofer??
