Is it by any chance an OCZ drive?

Try rebooting a few times. OCZ drives are renowned for occasionally not showing up in the BIOS sometimes. I have a 480GB Vertex 2 and it's a pain in the ass for it. I reckon about 20-30% of the time, it doesn't show up in Windows when I boot. fortunately the only thing I keep on there are Steam games so it's a simple matter of rebooting once or twice until the drive shows up again since Steam plays nice with external storage anyway ^^

480gb ssd for steam games?!?! What is your library filled with? I have maybe 20 games max that I actually keep downloaded and none on a ssd.

i9 25.6 GHz with NeuronThreading, 256gb 6000 MHz RAM, GTX 990 OC 3024MHz 12gb, Skeletal X99 motherboard, 1 Petabyte SSD, Fractal Design Humaniod R1 Case, Herbivore 10,000W PSU, Noctua NF16 LP Derma Cooler.

Probably the only Star Citizen player who is planning on a career in Journalism instead of piracy, mining, trading, exploration, military, station management, etc.

Generation 0: The first time you see this add 1 to the number and copy it into your sig. Consider it a social experiment.

Did you reboot? If so I expect you've got a shy controller like I do lol.

I have like, 1TB of Steam games. The 480GB drive is just for those I feel warrant faster speeds. I have a 120GB drive which has my OS and the odd "loads ridiculously slowly" game on it - e.g. Kerbal Space Program, and then I have another 2 x 500GB HDDs which have the games which don't need faster speeds on them. Any media goes on my file server, along with backup copies of all the games.

I live in a country where it's impossible to get decent internet. Even if you do get a decent connection the ISP introduces caps and throttles (at home we have a connection which is barely capable of 1mbps, and at university we have a gigabit line throttled to 0.25mbps, it's amazing). For this reason I literally cannot afford to uninstall and reinstall games. That's why I keep backups - if a drive fails I don't want to wait the week and a half it would take to redownload each game.
