Hi. Recently, my 750GB Tobshia External USB 3.0 drive won't show up in the file explorer but it shows in Disk Management. Is there any way of accessing it back without losing all my stuff?

I've attaches what it says to me from File Explorer to CrystalDiskInfo.

Thank you for any help!

BTW... This happened after I updated to Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Hey there fellow Captain :)

Do you have valuable data on that drive?

Do try accessing the drive with an older OS and possibly from a Linux distro and see if the drive is recognized this way.

Try right-clicking on that blue partition and see if you can assign a letter to it.

I wouldn't try formatting the drive if you need the data from it.

Let me know how these things go.

Go and mount the drive in diskmgmt.msc by assiging a drive letter or a mount folder.

I've tired but it doesn't give me that option. Very weird that some of it is reconized.

I do have stuff on it that I need.

It works on older software and even a simple chromebook. Accessed it without a problem.

I also tried assigning a letter but it didn't give me that option.

I would suggest getting your data back through another OS and back it up elsewhere just to be on the safe side.

Then you may try to fully format the drive under the new OS as it appears to be an issue with the specific OS version. Then you may restore the data to the drive and continue using it. This should help.
