Hello!

Recently I bought the msi gtx 1070 OC edition.

I replaced my new one with my old gtx 960 2gb.

So I needed a new power supply, and upgraded from the corsair 450 VS -> corsair rm650x

My specs:

-gtx 1070 oc

-i5 4460

-8gb ddr3

-mobo: asus H97M-E

-tb sshd

-corsair rm650x

And a 144 hz monitor. (upgraded from a 60Hz one because of new GPU) New monitor: asus MG248Q

Problem: always 100% cpu usage paired with stuttering, fps drops,.. (screen freezes for 2sec,..)

when playing games such as gtaV, bf4 on high. It even happens when playing gta V on medium (online and campaign)

I'd just like to play games in high, 60+ fps without stuttering...

What do I need to do?

Should I just replace my cpu with a more powerful one, or should I buy a new mobo for a 1151 socket, newer better cpu and 16gb ddr4?

I really don't know what need to do

Can you help me out?

ty <3

Edit:  woops wrong category sorry first post :P

Although an i5 will bottleneck a 1070 slightly, it wont be much (Hardly noticeable, over 120 Fps easily). Skylake wont be much faster either, only about 10%. You could upgrade to a Haswell i7, not that I think a bottleneck big is the issue here.

Ok, thanks for the reply.  But what's the problem then? Do you have any idea?

^ That. i7-4790k & i7-6700k don't have much of a difference.

You probably want to enable V-Sync if your monitor supports it. If not, I'd recommend getting a monitor with G-Sync to prevent screen tearing. You also probably want to upgrade your CPU to i7-4790k, which would only require buying that CPU & not getting a new board.
