yes, definitely. even on 1080P resolution some games use more then 3 GB VRAM when on high settings. to be a bit more future proof, 6GB VRAM is kinda crucial.

You have to remember that it's not only the amount of video memory that has been changed for the 3GB... the GPU itself has also been cut-down which means it's less powerful than its 6GB 'sibling'. Also, there are some games at 1080p max settings where you can see 3GB struggle a bit. Of course, lowering settings from ultra to high will help this but who knows what future games will have in store.

 

With that said, I'd say the GTX 1060 6GB would be worth it over the GTX 1060 3GB.
