I dropped an Intel Core 2 Q6600 into my Dell Precision 390. Bios version 2.3.0. When i try to play Overwatch, i search for a game and then it crashes saying "RenderingDeviceLost" but this is the only game that it happens in so im fairly sure its not the graphics card. I didnt replace the thermal paste on the cpu cooler, but when the old cpu came off almost nothing was on it and there was what looked like just about plenty left on the block. Should i replace this anyway? (in game temps for cpu around 60c, gpu is around the same, but spiking to 70) my gpu is an MSI Twin Frozr II HD 6870

Always replace thermal paste. It might work, but it's very sub optimal & can lead to hot spots where it hasn't spread properly.

Rendering device lost sound like a driver issue. try reinstalling those & make sure it's not trying to use iGPU.
