I have fixed my display drivers making games unplayble now when I open my games I can play for like 5 seconds then my pc crashes and I get Error THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER It happened even when I am typing this I had to retype this. I looked online for solutions but they didn't help so maybe someone here knows a solution. I have an old MS-176k on this laptop so I cant find any bios drivers aswell if thats one of the ways.

Looking up the specs, it looks like that's an AMD A10 + 8000-series graphics card. Assuming you're running Windows 10, you can grab the latest drivers over at AMD's website just to be sure. They also have them for Windows 7 or Windows 8. They may all be the same driver package, but since AMD lists them individually, not a bad idea to just use whatever you have. You'll want to completely uninstall your AMD drivers to make sure you've got a clean slate to work from, and after restarting, go ahead and reinstall them. If you find your dedicated graphics card isn't picked up by the APU driver, you can grab the dedicated graphics driver and install that, too.

If that doesn't work, then while the error isn't specifically to do with TDR, you can try adjusting the Windows TDR delay value by opening up regedit and navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers then opening the tdrdelay item. Changing it from its default value of 2 to something larger like 10 might help here.

Just to confirm, what APU/GPU do you have in your laptop? You can check via Device Manager if you aren't sure, under Processors and Display adapters, respectively.

Alright. The latest drivers claim support for the 8000-series GPU's, which is why I ask; The only specs I could pull up had your machine with that card.

I woke up in the morning today finding that my laptop seems to be using intergrated graphics and there was something wrong with dedicated so I removed the display drivers and used AMD software that finds valid drivers for your system after It installed the drivers it fixed the problem but after I play a game and like 5 seconds later it crashes and says thread stuck in device driver. Hope this helped. Reinstalling display drivers using that AMD software atm.

You should run HWinfo to verify the GPU that is present on your system and to install the correct drivers. Here is the link for a portable version: http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/hwinfo-portable

I concluded that the problem happens after when I install all drivers and I click reboot for catalyst to go into effect before I reboot I can play anything fine so working on that atm your input would be welcomed.

What I have found on your laptop agrees with what @Runefox has stated. you should have the HD8970M graphics chip. Always download drivers from the manufacturer site. Here is a link: http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/notebook/8900m

Always install the drivers from the manufacturer's site. That way you get no unwanted or hidden "extras" that could cause problems.

The link you provided for the drivers you say you are using was not the AMD site. That is why I was stressing that. Downloading the drivers from the manufacturer's site is the only way you can have assurances that the driver is clean and un-tampered with.

Truly bizarre that the latest AMD driver isn't installing... There shouldn't be any custom crap with the Whitebook, it should all be standard AMD. The tool you were using to install the driver earlier today, was that the AMD auto detect utility? Or are you using a third party program like Driver Booster?
