Shield Portable?

Is nvidia ever going to make a second shield Portable and if not by the end of this year (which I know is very unlikely) is the shield Portable one worth it

what do you plan on using it for?

I doubt they'll release a new version but didn't they "just" upgrade it to the X1?

as far as tablet go the shield is cheaper and better than the competition. theres not much range in android tablets atm

Yeah i know. But apparently they didnt upgrade it.

 

You have an AMD GPU though. You know that makes the Shield pretty much worthless, do you? That limits you to Android games basically.

Oh wiat lol i completely forgot about that part, well can't you still buy their service (I think it was grid) to stream games to it?

ugh yeah, i think so.

I even tried it and lag was decent, at least on Street Fighter or whatever game. I didnt try a "real" game. ( i own the shield tab)

But you need nice internet for that which you probably only have at home, where your actual PC is sooo....

i wouldn't. I hate my shield tab to death. That POS is so fucking slow and the battery is so fucking bad that i can't even handle it anymore.

how long have you had yours for? iv only had mine a month, no complaints so far on battery but then i mostly keep mine plugged into charger & tv. I haven't noticed any speed issues

I've had mine for like 2 years I guess. It got really slow really fast. Then came the battery issue that Nvidia had where the devices startet to burn out so I got a new tablet which was exactly has bad but pretty much after one week of usage. 

It's just a giant piece of shit. 

I'm probably still going to buy the shield console for 4k game streaming from pc to TV. 

I can not recommend the tab in any way though. I hope yours keeps up though! Good luck.

Nintendo already did just this in the next console: The Switch. It's basically an undisclosed nVidia Shield tablet meant just for gaming.
