Hi everyone!

Im planning on building a budget gaming rig so that me and my brother can play games at the same time. I was hoping that any of you guys have experienced building a rig like this.

I was planning on using these parts:

Processor: intel i5 6500

GPU: GTX 1050 (two of them)

2 SSD and 2 HDDs

16GB RAM

Im not sure what motherboard I should use though. i need advise and suggestions

I might get a CPU with more threads...

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

Id suggest against making a virtualized gaming rig.

Its a pain to configure and use and simple things like adding a usb can cause lots of problems.

Id suggest you just build 2 cheap rigs or use windows multipoint if needed.

If you are doing virtualization, getting an i5 is not a very good idea. On paper, you get worse performance than an i3 because there is no hyperthreading. An i7 is probably a minimum for gaming and virtualization.

how about a motherboard?
