So its just a difference in how much effort the factory put into overclocking it?  Or is it "binned" (I dont know if that applies to GPUs)

I couldn't figure out if its binned.  I am pretty sure it isn't binned though.  I mean its up to you and when I bought mine, the non OC model was like 50 bucks cheaper and I get even better performance.

"Sometimes" the reason OC models and non OC models exist because the non OC models weren't good enough to meet the criteria they sort for in the OC model.  It may not just be "does it overclock as well" it may be, does it have a higher power draw to reach that overclock than what they need, etc.

Does yours still have all the lights and whistles on it?  The non oc model is like 100 bucks cheaper now

It made it easier for a higher stable overclock due to it being able to draw more power.

Ok thanks, That makes all the complicated stuff a little easier to understand.  I feel like they do this on purpose to trick dummies like me into spending too much

I bought the non oc version. A friend spent the extra for the oc version. Mine boosts higher then his. So I'd say it isn't worth it. Kinda pointless when you can oc. Also pointless if you think you'll notice that small oc in fps, unless you're playing a crappy game like bo3.
