Gtx 1050 ti or Rx480

rwaalph

So before you start writing comments on how rx480 is better than 1050 ti i know chill ya ass off

Here's my dillemma

I am trying to think hard enough which should i get im on a tight budget and im getting my first custom build soon and i wanna get the 1050ti but i dont know if it can run games with decent quality and frames 1-3years from now because im gonna replace it with better graphics card 1-3 yrs from now, here's where the 480 comes in and im curious if going the extra mile getting  the 480 is a better choice considering im not a gamer who is so concerned about the games video quality i mostly play games on medium settings. If i get the 480 i maybe need to wait another month or 2 to buy it

Personally I'd get the 480 however if you really need to save then a 1050 Ti, do not get a regular 1050.

Save for the next two months. If you get the 1050, it might not meet your basic requirements in a few years so you would have to get a new card. The 480 would be able to last a little longer.

Current System: CPU - I5-6500 | Motherboard - ASRock H170M-ITX/ac | RAM - Mushkin Blackline 16GB DDR4 @ 2400mHz | GPU - EVGA 1060 3GB | Case - Fractal Design Nano S | Storage - 250GB 850 EVO, 3TB Barracuda | PSU - EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze | Display - AOC 22" 1080p IPS | Cooling - Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK | Keyboard - Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid(MX Blues) | Mouse - Logitech G602 | Sound - Schiit Stack | Operating System - Windows 10

The OG System: I3-2370M @ 2.4 GHz, 750GB 5400 RPM HDD, 8GB RAM @1333Mhz, Lenovo Z580 Laptop (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS).

go for the 1050ti, you can play most games on high settings maybe ultra.

Better one strong card that lets you have all the eye candy now and lasts longer, than having to buy multiple upgrades and never enjoying eye candy.

well i will definitelt upgrade 2-3 years from now i just need it to last ans give decent performance til then

The 1050 Ti is good if you are on a exceptionally tight budget. The RX 470 would be your best choice as its only about $50 more than the 1050 Ti and will give you better results.

If this was myself I would save for the RX480. Its a great value and can be found for $240. While it is $100 more than a 1050Ti it will last you longer also.
