EVGA temp issues

Just read a story about the evga 1080 and 1070 card ram temps. It stated that the issue was fixed with thermal paddings. Just wanted to know if new evga cards are shipped with this thermal padding, or would I have to look for an alternative video card?

i heard that cards binned after August this year won't have the issues, unsure if they have padding already.

Ah ok. Cooling is a major consideration for which card I would get so this might decide whether I get the evga video card or go with another brand

you won't go wrong with EVGA as they have good customer service. but if you want the best air-cooler see the asus strix cards

Yeah the customer service is another major reason why evga is at the top of my list right now. Asus is also on my list, but some scary stories I've heard about the customer service puts me off a bit.

The evga temp problem was a bit unsettling though as some cards out right failed because of this
