Hello everyone,

I just finished my new build:

asus maximus viii hero

i7 6700k

evga gtx 1080

16gb ram

evga 650 supernova p2 psu

when I first power on my system, I get a warning that a power surge was detected and warns me to change my psu. I've read various sites that asus' power surge detection warning is too sensitive and some people just turn it off. Well when I restart my computer after the warning it boots into Windows just fine, and with a couple days of use (internet browsing and gaming) I have had 0 issues. But every time I turn my computer on from a cold start, it detects a power surge.

The evga 650w psu also makes a loud click sound when first turning on, and occasionally when loading into Windows (at least I think it's coming from the psu), but I have no idea of the significance of that. I happened to have an evga 850w G2 so I threw that into my new build, but got the same exact warning. I find it hard to believe 2 evga psu's could be faulty. The only other oddity of the build is the delay between pressing my power button and the computer to actually turn on, it seems like it's a full second before anything starts to happen. Could it be a problem with the case/front IO (corsair 750d), or even the motherboard?
