Might not be possible, the programs themselves could override windows settings, so you'll have to check the default save location of every app/program.

You'll need to uninstall then reinstall them to the HDD. When you're going through the installation, just change the default directory. Depending on the program though, you may want it still on the SSD for better performance.

Not a problem for me, when I install an app/program I automatically check it's default save location if it's that important to me.

No. You won't even be able to use Storage spaces because you can't boot from a Storage space.

You should check your browser's settings and change the download folder from there.

You can access them by typing about:settings in the address bar and pressing Enter.

Go to your C: Drive > Users > *Username*. Right click on Downloads (or My Pictures, Documents, Pictures, etc) and select 'Properties.' Click the 'Location' Tab and either 'Move...' or 'Find Target...' will change the directory where it is saved. However, when you click on Downloads in the Windows menu or in the Explorer shortcut, it should take you to the directory on your HDD rather than the C: drive.

An alternative would be to mount a partition on your 1 TB hard drive in C:\Users\Your_User\Downloads\, where Your_User is your Windows username, but this has the disadvantage of applying only to that user account and is generally a bother. :D
Or you could create a symbolic link so that your downloads folder will redirect to a different folder.

To do this, open cmd and type the following commands

mkdir D:\Downloads

mklink /j C:\Users\Your_User\Downloads\ D:\Downloads

I kind of get it but if I followed these steps would that mean that everything from now on will be save to my hdf but will show on the desktop of c: drive?

Who talked about the desktop? What @Omon_Ra is suggesting is moving the location of the Download folder from the C: drive to the D: drive.

If you have shortcuts to your Downloads, My Pictures, Documents, etc on your Desktop, yes. But they will not download directly to your desktop. If you want it on your desktop, you'll have to set your Download folder to C: > Users > *Username* > Desktop. However I did see that you can change your Desktop folder to a different location, like previously described, while writing this post.

What I instructed you to do earlier is to just change the location where the Downloads 'live.' The links in the File Explorer sidebar and shortcuts to the folder will still go to the new Downloads location on the D: drive.

Yes, perfect that's exactly what I want. But does it mean that it will move the items in that folder to my hdd or from now on it will move it to my hdd becuase what I have save on my ssd still needs to be on my ssd, but its out of space so from know on any files and such need to go to my hdd.

I believe if you select the 'Move...' option, it'll move (duh) all of the stuff in your Downloads folder and all future downloads will go to the new location. If you do the 'Change Target...' option, I believe it will keep whatever is in the Download folder as it is, then all future ones will go to the new location. Just to be safe, I'd copy all of everything you need to stay in your Downloads folder to a random one somewhere, so you can make a new 'Downloads' folder on the C: drive if necessary. Or just move whatever files are necessary on the C: drive to folders other than the Downloads. I do all of this stuff when I install Windows, rather than trying to shuffle it around later.
