Boot problems

Hi all,

I recently build a new pc. I had an old 250gb hdd with windows 8.1 and some files.

I used that drive so i could upgrade to windows 10. In the windows setup menu i selected my 1tb drive so it would install windows on that hdd.

Im 100% that windows is installed on my 1tb drive. after i was done i plugged out my old 250hdd and it didnt want to boot to windows. I plugged my 250gb drive in and then it worked.

My problem is that i dont want that  old hdd, i also dont want to erase it because it has some old pics and stuff

I'm not sure if this is a correct way to fixing the problem but you could try to clone your 250GB HDD to the 1TB one and then install windows 10 on it. Correct me if it's a bad way to fix it.

wouldnt an upgrade to windows install windows on the drive you were upgrading windows on? or are we talking formatting and installing?

The bootloader is probably on the 250gb hdd. But i want it to be on the 1tb one. Basically... I want bootloader to be on the 1tb hdd without transfering the files of the 250gb drive
