Good budget tablet or 2 in 1?

Just doing something searching for holiday season coming around the corner for a tablet that you can buy a keyboard for or flips to keyboard with around at least a 10 inch screen for around $300 USD. Have never owned a tablet/2 in 1 so if anyone here has any recommendations that won't set me back 5-7 hundred dollars that would be nice. Looking to purchase one for my mom who needs something to browse/ type out emails with. Was looking at a Surface 2 but I'm not sure how well those age compared to the technology she already has (Galaxy S5). Try recommending me anything up to like $400 USD because I'm planning on doing some Newegg shopping around black Friday. Not sure what brands are reliable and what ones aren't. 

 

TLDR: tablet or 2 in 1 for around 250-400 USD
