I wasn't sure where I was supposed to post this so this seemed like the best spot to put it but I'd like someone to look at my results and tell me if they are good or not. I ran the test for about an hour and a half. Thanks!

Computer stats: CPU-  Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.5GHz(Overclocked)

                          CPU- Cooler Corsair H80i

                          RAM- 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 933MHz (9-10-9-28)
                          Motherboard- MSI Z97 GAMING 5 (MS-7917)
                          Graphics card- MSI GTX 1080

Max temp on CPU is higher than what I personally would like. Spike of 89C is over my 87C personal limit under testing. Its bit odd since you aren't running that high voltage either and cooler should perform better. What is your ambient, fan setup and what was max and max spike during baseline test?

I recently switched to a new motherboard and thermal paste. I never ran a full stress test on the old setup but it never got that hot. Ambient was probably a little high because I had a full night of gaming and I'm using the H80i fans and the two that came with my case which is a Fractal Design R5. I might have a defective cooler and maybe applied too little/much thermal paste. Could that change anything or if I don't have my CPU cooler tightened down alot.

The last part will do more than you think. With modern coolers you can tighten them as much as you can without using any power tools. They aren't going to warp board or bend CPU. Those are just rare cases or urban legends. If you haven't tighten it enough, and have normal amount or bit less paste, CPU and cooler aren't making enough contact for efficient heat transfer.

By baseline I meant temps without OC going on and maybe undervolted to 1.1-1.15V. That would tell if its cooler or OC which is causing those high temps.

Alright I'll run a test later today with the OC turned off and the thermal compound I'm using is TX-4 which is more of a thermal grease. I'll probably tighten the cooler and try retesting with either a window or the AC on.
