So, I just realized how fucked I am when I figured out that two of the most popular cpu cooler doesn't fit because my motherboard is not just Micro atx but it is also a "slim" model, meant to be couple inches less in terms of width than the standard micro atx. Rendering any ( so far tested with Cryorig M9a and Hyper 212 evo) after market cooler useless. M9a doesn't work because can't even use one of the front plates because Vram sets around the socket blocks it. With the 212 evo everything works fine until you try to actually screw in the scissor looking thing. the screw hole falls short  in length, you can only screw max 2 sides on the same side. After that the rest doesn't line up. So, by only using thermal paste and gravity i am keeping the cooler on top of the cpu, so far nothing terrible has happened. Performance at first was pretty good, after few hours it is normal, better than stock. Should I keep at this way? I don't care the fact that case is side way laid down.
Motherboard : Asus A78m-e (I am pretty sure it is discontinued)

Yes, I have looked up online/ manual on how to configure the scissor looking thing to fit for my fm2 socket.

Don't trust it, gravity's a bitch.

Use the Linus solution: Zip Ties around the socket holes :)

To elaborate: if you just leave the cooler in there without a mechanism that puts force between the CPU and the cooler, it will perform bad. You will certainly hit thermal throttling thresholds.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Sounds like a bad idea to me, if your going to keep it that way, at least enable emergency shutoff in your BIOS for CPU temp. I would set it at 90C.

Is it a standard feature for all motherboards? I can't find that option in my bios

Yes, I have looked up online/ manual on how to configure the scissor looking thing to fit for my fm2 socket.

Both of those coolers should work fine on any fm2/fm2+ board, or really any socket motherboard besides older/obscure ones.

The motherboard form factor has nothing to do with the cooler mount.

If you read the manual throughly it shoud tell you exactly how to configure it for an amd socket, and it does the fm2 socket is the same as the fm1, or am3, in terms of the cooler mount, look at the middle page at the bottom.

It was exactly my thought as well , I have revisited the manual several times wasted hours upon hours before reaching to my conclusion
