Hi, i'm not really know where to post this but i'll do it here.

basically i have been playing bf1 and i can get around 70 sometimes 80 fps on ultra. (r9290) i was wondering is it better to cap the fps with vsync (i have a 60ghz monitor) so it will cap to 60 or should i keep it off? are there any disadvantage's if i cap the fps to 60? i heard something about input lag with vsync?

V-sync always off for minimal input lag

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Unless you're a competitive gamer the input lag is minimal.

I always leave V-sync on to save on resources. No need to run my GPU full out all of the time, especially when I will never even notice a difference. So I run with ultra settings with Vsync on. Works for me. I've never noticed any input lag on modern games, even fast paced FPSs.

I personally tend to run vsync on as I do sometimes notice tearing, but don't notice input lag. If you want best of both worlds you'd need to look at freesync or G-sync in combination with a high refresh monitor.

I just prefer 0 interference from V-sync

also you should pick up this $120 1080p 75hz free-sync display when you get a chance

To be honest, I have read about "input lag" here and there, but I still have to see such thing (either it didn't happen or it isn't something I would notice).

I have experienced horrible tearing, though, and that's really experience-ruining.

So I think you can guess which one it'll be for me :P
