Red or Brown keys?

hello i want to buy a corsair mechanical keybored and i noticed theres a difference between the colors. i have two options to buy from the store and they are red and brown. which should i take?

That really depends on personal preference. We can't tell you which one you prefer as it's completely subjective. 

 

Reds are linear (no tactile bump) and do not make the distinctive "clicky" sound like Blues do. Browns are tactile and also do not have a "clicky" sound. I personally find that Browns are much better for typing and Reds can be better for gaming as they're easier to tap repeatedly very quickly. 

 

My overall preference would be browns as I hate typing on reds (found I miss-typed a lot with them). I prefer them over blues as well because I prefer them to be quieter. Only thing that would beat browns for me would be clears, as they're the same but require more force to press down.

A quick suggestion, please remove the image when you quote them so they don't have to scroll through images twice

Thank you so much @dexxterlab97 because of this gif im strongly considering taking the brown one over the red im a hybrid kinda guy that is gaming all arround and typing

I would go brown over red as it gives you the best of both worlds where red switches cater more to just gaming and many don't like to type on reds.
