7970 is great, but a 7870 will be fine for 1920x1080.

You should tell us which games you're playing so we can tell you exactly what you need.

crysis 3, BF3, Botherland 2, Sims City, almost every game,

i just wonder, 7970 is a great card for multi montior but im using 1 only, then what for i buy things?

anything u can impress me ? :P

Depends on the game and the drivers used.

As far as I know a heavily overclocked 7870 can trade punches with a stock 670 in benchmarks to give you an idea. (this may hold up but all depends on the drivers!)

690 is dual gpu so I can't compare it unless I was familiar with the 7990. I'm not.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

4-way HD7970s=Fastest system ever

4-way GTX680s=Most zeros in paycheck ever

Just get what ever you can afford bro! It'll be fine as long as you don't go below a 7870.

If you play Borderlands 2 and such games which use Nvidias physx then you want a nvidia card, Borderlands 2 just looks amazing with physx enabled. Because of that i would recommend that you pic up a 680 off some kind, The 680 trades blows with the 7970, they preform pritty much the same. However you can oc the 7970 more, just something to keep in mind. And if you do any editing with adobe programs then you will have the cuda core boost that nvidia cards also has...

Intel 3930K @ 4,4ghz | Asus Rampage IV Extreme | Corsair Dominator GT 16gb | EVGA GTX 680 Classified | Asus Xonar Xense | Corsair HX 1050 | Corsair H100i | Corsair Force 3 120gb | Western Digital 2tb Black |

hello @nickpokesyou

I think you misunderstood what i was saying. Adobe programs use the cuda cores on nvidia cards to boost the rendreing prosess, you will not get this boost on AMD cards. So the rendering prosess will be sligtly slower with a AMD card, but this is mostly usefull if you do videoediting ofthen,

back to the top "if im a gamer "

-gamer doesn't need to video editing often

so get 7970 if its in your budget and stay happy in gaming for price/performance
