Internet please

Fnoskar786

long story short, I'm living with my grandma and I'm in the basement. I'm basically directly below the router. I'm using wifi to connect to the internet, it says I have full bars and my connection is excellent; but when I try to go on youtube, or facebook, or anything, it just says that I cannot connect. I try to load up minecraft to see if I can even connect to anything, it doesn't let me play online or connect to any servers.

Is there any way to fix this without having to directly connect to the router?

Try disabling any anti viruses and windows firewall. Also open CMD (Command Prompt) and type "ping google.com" Without "". If you get "could not find host" check your connection.

Can you use the internet at all? As-in: did you post this message using that same computer? If so, you have some strange problems.

Check for proxy settings in your pc, check if you have set up a VPN. Try using a cable, to check if that fixes the problem (I doubt it). Does your computer have some kind of filters, like p0rn filters, which is set to agressive. Disable firewall, disable virus scanner, check if all protocols for your network are set propperly. Are you connected to the propper network. Did you have to get acces to that modem. Has the modem changed configuration parts, like don't allow connections from 192.168.X.X...

I posted this message using the computer I'm trying to get the internet to connect to, but this is basically the only site I can connect to.

I still cant go on servers or anything on minecraft, I still can't go on youtube/google; it's really weird...

Those pings seem insanely high

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I can watch youtube and use spotify and all other things when I'm connected on my phone. But spotify is stuck in offline mode and I can't watch videos on my computer

Okay mate try this

Run CMD as an admin

try "netsh winsock reset"

without ""

then ipconfig /flushdns

then restart your computer

generally speaking will fix your internet connection if was working previously and you can ping a server.

I honestly don't know what's going on. Spotify and games don't work, google and youtube don't load. LTT loads perfectly fine.
