@dexxterlab97.............I was using a crap 19 inch aoc 1920x1080 Walmart monitor.   I am using a 29 inch 2560x1080 21:9 monitor now.   Even with my aging,  XFX R7 360 I still got decent frame rates on medium settings.   I am using a gigabyte GTX 1060 now.    Battlefield 4 is not the most demanding game in the world.

I just was curious to why the automatic setting always insist on staying at medium  :

Here is a general run down of my specs

Asus Motherboard

i7 6700k Sky  Lake

Hyper evo 212 Cooler

16 Gigs of ram

Gigabyte GTX 1060 GPU

29 Inch 2560x1080 LG monitor.

You should get 90fps+ with 1080p and 60fps+ with 1440p

But you didn't tell me what is your fps? Maybe the game want to get that awesome 100 fps feeling?

hes only asking why the default settings are still medium, most games don't auto adjust and origin might have kept ur cloud save data from previously keeping the default graphics settings at medium.

Auto settings don't really work with newer hardware.  They're probably choosing medium settings because a 1060 is technically a midrange card, but it is more than capable of running the game on ultra.

Geforce experience is an alternative but personally I would suggest just manually tweaking the settings in all your games.

4K // R5 3600 // RTX2080Ti

@dexxterlab97.................On high settings, i get an average just over 100 FPS , which is pretty spectacular.     This Gigabyte CARD IS TRULY A BEAST.

If u really wanna crank the settings, set the textures and terrain to ultra, keep SSAO or hbao on, mesh on high, and everything else on low, then put the resolution scale to 200% (wait maybe not that high since ur at 2560x1080), make sure anti aliasing is off.
